Long day today. Shit getting difficult again, but slogging through.
Ah well. Permanence is an illusion.
Yay!! More Omar! I was afraid we wouldn’t be seeing the crotchety old bastard now that the gals took over the shop.
I smell a Soviet Socialist Arsonist here…..
Sooo… Omar is likely on his honeymoon, and still clothed. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT HERE!
You wanted more naked Omar? I’m sure J. and Mel will be glad to oblige.
Pretty sure naked is what an Omar would do in it’s natural habitat. And based on how many weddings he’s been in, I’m sure the honeymoon is pretty familiar territory. hehe
Well, you have to put clothes on to get on the airplane to come back….
I like the rollover text.
You do realize that the fatally flawed “gun-walking” operations started under Bush, right? “Fast and Furious” was just one of four, and the only one that took place during Obama’s administration, and wasn’t authorized by him or Holder. And that ANYTHING Issa puts in a report is more likely than not to be a partisan lie or misrepresentation?
I realize he’s had 6 years to stop it if he didn’t want it…
You mean, like when it was shut down 4 years ago? You know, when he was informed of it along with the rest of us?
Hahaha… yeah… THAT’s what happened. See, I too know people working in gun shops. One of whom has RECENTLY had his FFL threatened if he DIDN’T let a kind little old lady walk out with the 12 bullpups she paid cash for. Sure it’s shut down.
Here in the real world, Bush’s “gun-walking” program a) let the other people involved know about it, including the Mexican government, and b) included a way to actually track the guns, so that c) it resulted in actual arrests. Obama’s on the other hand, was considerably simpler–Hilary had already been telling people that people in Mexico were being killed with American guns. when that was proven to not be true, they immediately took action to MAKE it true.
There are reasons for even conservatives to not like Bush, but to claim his program was the same as Fast & Furious is utterly disingenuous.
Moreover, I know that Mr. Grant and I have had small tangles about his utter hatred of Bush, so “Bush did it too” isn’t likely to stop him.
To answer your question: Yes.
I’ve been following this since before I even had the idea of starting this comic.
Also, I’d point out that I didn’t blame Obama or Holder. It’s dialogue from Omar.
Whenever law enforcement tells you having a lawyer won’t help you, that’s a red flag to get one before saying anything. Of course, in circumstances like this, you should anyway. Anything you say, etc., etc.
Anything you say will be taken out of context and used to incriminate you?
It could be. Remember the scene in “My Cousin Vinnie”, when they asked him, “Why’d you kill the clerk?”, and he replied, questioning, “I killed the clerk?”, and they wrote that down as “I killed the clerk”, a confession. Innocent statements can trip you up, especially if you make a mistake.
About right. In an interview with the police, your presumption should be that they are trying to get you to say something that the DA can spin as an admission of guilt. That is, after all, the easy way to close a case.
Yeah, the actual truth about that whole thing has had a hard time getting anywhere near the traction that the manufactured scandal response did.
If you consider that article you linked as ‘truth’ then you and I live in different realities.
Like those 2 stories are any less biased than the ones that came out of the right-leaning media. Unbiased journalism is dead.
Bush did it. Bush’s fault. Bush is to blame. Bwaaaawk! Obama supporter want a cracker!
No, Bush didn’t do it. Idiots at the ATF did it, continuing to think that letting guns walk and finding them later was a good idea after the first time they lost hundreds of guns, much less four separate operations. But neither Obama, Holder, Bush, Gonzales, or Mukasey had anything to do with authorizing the operations. So much for your stupid little meme.
Stupid references deserve stupid memes.
The pre-Obama ops did not involve Mexican cartels and did not result in the deaths of US LEOs. And if you really think that Holder is not up to his chin in FAF, you are a gull. His plausible deniability just isn’t that plausible.
