With great power comes great something or other.
Forgive short posts – still reeling from A-Kon. Ain’t the spring chicken I used to be, and it takes DAYS for me to regain a semblance of “normalcy,” not that there is any “normal” around these parts, what with all the shenanigans and goings-on.
I’ve been arguing against this for a while, because I’ve been to countries that really DO have a police state, but I still maintain that the USA isn’t one.. yet. We’re getting there.
Do you mean “returning to routine”?
Minions!
Wait until Mick learns that minions aren’t self-directing, and actually create more work for the manager… 😀
I find that there’s a crossover point. If you can decrease your own workload through delegation more than you increase it through management overhead, it’s worth it. Of course, this has a lot to do with the quality of the minions; good ones take less time to manage than bad ones. (Which, of course, is something I worry about every time I hire a new minion.)
More importantly, though, is not so much “does this lighten my workload?” as “does this improve my workload?” If I can spend time directing minions to do things I don’t want to do, and if they aren’t annoying to manage, it may be worth it even if I spend the same amount of time managing them as I would’ve spent doing the job directly. (Obviously, there’s a financial tradeoff there too; what’s your sanity worth?)
Spoken like an experienced Minion Master (Hail, Sluggy!).
Mick, OTOH, is no such creature. He’s, at best, a novice larval-stage minion master (lower case!), and as such is in for some very rough discoveries.
Knowing Mick, he’ll probably just get seduced and sleep with them.
We’re we go……poor Mick, smart enough to hire some honeys to help keep the male clientel, then tormented by the gun in his pants!
There shall be TITS!
C’mon, you know Mick’s Center of Intelligence never gets too far above his belt.
If he’s smart and thinks in term of his wallet, he’ll keep the employees out of the back storage room, continue selling the old/exotic ammo he found back there as his side business (as he was given permission to in a verbal agreement by the former owner), and pocket the money, telling no one.
But is he smart enough to think with that other thing in his pants, his wallet?
He’ll give the Minons the tasks he least likes – Stocking shelves, conducting inventory, dealing with Tom… 😉
Let’s not forget cleaning Cosmoline off of Mosins.
Perhaps he should hire a gay man JUST to deal with Tom.
Brilliant.
Bonus points if he hires a straight-shootin’* seriously-flamboyant gay cowboy.**
*Various levels of double-entendre and pun: inentional.
** Pudding-eating optional.
Oh my god, I want to see that so badly. I’ve known a couple of full-on gay-pride-out-the-ass* guys who would love to have a shot** at somebody like Tom.
Wait… Joe would be perfect for the job. Too bad he’s already employed elsewhere. Maybe Mick can talk him into working a few hours just to piss off Tom…
* This one was intentional too.
** I liked MaskMan’s pun and chose to borrow it while I was at it.
Black… Jamaican… Put him in a cowboy hat, and Tom’s head* will explode!**
*Yes, intentional. 😀
**This, too.
That’s Blazin Saddles all over again. Hehe
Or he could just clean out that ammo and sell it from his house.
Minons? Hmmm is it just me or does anyone else miss Omar?
Hm. New character introduction, or is he considering hiring the only friend we know he’s got?
Are they going for reasonably built male workers in a female friendly business, or is he gonna hire another gal?
