So a lot of you know this already, but Mel and I are best known for doing a comic about a couple cats. It’s a cat comic we’ve been doing for over ten years, called Two Lumps. It was only proper that they end up in here at some point.
Some might say crossover comics are lazy, but I’d argue that fuck you.
Cats and guns, man. Cats and guns. That’s an adequate description of our lives.
Update on the Bundy thing: I stand by my assertion. Rep. Steven Horsford’s message was a lie. A setup. We have the first Bundy camp denial:
Bundy denies that militia members set up checkpoints on public property. He said armed guards do stop and screen visitors at the gate to his ranch.
It’s a setup, folks. A setup.
Fuck it, it’s Friday. Everyone get naked and drink vodka.
Edit: Auto update is not working when I schedule for 2:00 am CST. Gonna try moving it to 5:00 am.
Given the proximity to Cinco de Mayo, wouldn’t SeΓ±or Tequila be a more appropriate visitor than Comrade Vodka?
And, so used to reading TL am I, that at first I didn’t even notice Eben’s presence as anything out of the ordinary in the FTF universe.
I’m just glad it was Eben and not Snooch. Snooch is dangerous enough without firearms.
I’m curious to know if Eben would’ve passed the NICS check.
Just noticed that it continues onto Two Lumps. I hereby broaden my previous statement to “Snooch is dangerous enough without ranged weapons.”
Not old enough. π
Could have been worse. Could have been Jay.
YEAH!
Sadly, I have retired the character of Jay forever. Or maybe not so sadly. Whatever. There was a time and place, and we’re almost a decade out from that time and place.
Those who ignore their own history are doomed…
Been reading TL for a long while, and saw the reference to here when you started. I noticed the calendar on time, that there had been a extra posting on a Tuesday, so I clicked on it, and read about the passing of your real-life cats, who inspired the strip. I love that y’all named then after the brothers from Dragonlance, but bawled my eyes out at their passing, wailing put, “Dammit, comics aren’t supposed to make you cry!”. Crossovers are a fun way to connect the comics to unfamiliar readers.
In regards to the Bundy circus, this just popped up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HkSAewoESg
Seems likely the first shot fired is going to be friendly fire. Or in this case, crazy fire.
I don’t remember–has Jay from Flem ever wandered in to CTYM? I know he turned up in Two Lumps once, as an exterminator armed with a gunblade.
I dunno. Bundy doesn’t seem to have a clear idea of what is and isn’t public property, and it’s not like this hodgepodge of militia have a well-defined chain of command. The Oath Keepers have already bugged out because they thought Eric Holder was calling in a drone strike. I’m more inclined to think this is incompetence rather than conspiracy, and these chuckleheads are more in danger of being shot by each other than by the Feds. Getting a bunch of armed paranoiacs in the same place is never a recipe for calm.
“Getting a bunch of armed paranoiacs in the same place is never a recipe for calm.”
Ah. So you’ve been to an FBI convention, then.
The DEA convention is more fun. The Fibbies have no sense of humor. But the DEA has better drugs.
And if you can get the BATFE to show up, you’ve got a REAL party..!
I want more crossovers, it could be a whole lotta fun.
Well, there’s video of Bundy and his goons engaging in far more threatening activity than just the checkpoints.
This was very confusing when this comic is in my list AFTER Two Lumps.
Nice, love the crossover as I’ve been following Two Lumps since I found it. Hmmm…does “single malt scotch” count as “vodka”? I’ve got a nice 12 year old Glenfiddich with me here….
Love the double crossover!
Fun fact: I got into guns because of the two lumps comic about the XDM back in 2010. I had recently graduated college and started my first real job, a rather slow paced computer support job. Finally bored with spending all day and night on a computer I was looking for a new hobby and that comic got me looking at the XDM, which lead to going to a local range and shooting a gun for the first time. Now I’m horribly addicted and own a decent collection, including several NFA items!
Our work here is complete! IT’S THE CIRRRRCLE, THE CIRCLE OF… cats & guns.
Eben’s expression in panel 2 of TL is the best part of the whole crossover.
Got to get Jay to meet Mick and Omar. It would be funnier than hell.
I will say Eben has good taste in cartridges!
Cat? I thought it was a beaver.
Which would be much more apropos to what is usually the subject of this strip. π
That would be a no, 5am CST update didn’t work, either π
