I’m not sure people will understand this unless they’re hardcore comics geeks.
I’m OK with that.
Mostly over the cold now. Next week, FTF returns to its non-pun, storyline driven shit. This one is just to finish up the week.
Now also listen to some motherfucking awesome metal.
It’s true what Taurus was saying about the Kriss’s. They look weirsome. (weird/awesome)
KRISS has *excellent* looks. Too bad I have to get a stamp to get the short-barrel version.
It’s always a good time to reference Windsor McCay. Additional kudos for going for Rarebit rather than Little Nemo.
I thought it was some sort of vague Nemo joke . . . glad to see I wasn’t TOO far off the mark.
A Thompson had unprotected lust with a M3/M3A1.
That about sum’s it up.
I do like that they can come pre-threaded though.
The KRISS Vector: The ugliest thing to be cool since mullets.
They used it in a movie and I spent half the film thinking “man, what idiot designer thought that was a good look for a gun”, and all the while assuming it was simply a fictional firearm.
I thought maybe it was a Johnny Seven. 😀
Lies. The Mullet was NEVER this cool.
The KRISS is the coolest thing since George Patton’s wife, Beatrice, showed the Army how to drive a tank.
While wearing a dress.
I tried searching “kriss in dress” to make a “anything you can do I can do better” joke and now I am unsure about my sexuality.
Halp.
ROFL.
That which has been seen cannot be unseen.
BTW: The ‘driving a tank in a dress’ really happened.
Patton was pushing the Christie Tank design to senior officers, and was extolling the virtues of the design whilst demonstrating on a stripped chassis, including its ease of operation and reduced training needs. He offered the delegation a chance to drive the test vehicle, and when they declined, George turned to his wife and asked if she would do the honors. Being as big a bad-ass as her husband, she climbed up and took it for a spin around the test track. From the one image I’ve seen, she apparently had a blast.
That was, possibly, a serious mistake. Having been shown-up by a junior officers wife, there’d have been little good feeling for Patton *or* the Christie Tank. So Christie sold the design to the Soviets. Who put it to good use.
so cheese on toast gave you a dream like that? or just kept you up with stomach problems?
Got it. Then again, I’m old.
It’s okay. Every great work of episodic fiction has filler episodes. Star Trek had “Spock’s Brain”, BSG had “Black Market”, Star Trek Voyager had itself….
Can you pick a B5 and Andromeda episode for that list?
I learned about Welsh Rarebit from an episode of Gomer Pyle, USMC: “Gomer, the Welsh Rarebit Fiend” when I was a kid!
Totally got this one. I always knew I was hardcore in my oldschool newspaper comic geekdom. (:
Learned something new. Thanks
i probably didn’t get the joke, still laughing.
Things like the Kriss and the P90 make me really, really hate the 1986 machine gun ban. The semiauto versions just aren’t the same, and paying a $200 tax to get the barrel shortened doesn’t come close to making up for that.
They are cool toys, and I wanna play with them. Damnit.
I had Welsh Rarebit for lunch yesterday, as it happens. Last night was not-ready-for-Burn dreams.
So when I mouse over the panels and the arrow button, it looks like i can click it, but when I do it links me to hostgattor’s thing about how I am not able to view the page.
Is this just me, or did the site fuck us all over (again [not blaming anyone])?
It’s 403ing again. Please fix this quickly.
Uh… ok? Did I fix it in time to save her?
Nope, Still 403.
403 error.
Jan 13 page is 403-ing here too…
