Heidi’s Story 1
Welcome back! So far, Mick is NOT being a dumbass. I know! I’m as surprised as you are.
After much hemming and hawing, I decided to put out Year One of FTF in full color, trade paperback. The cost of all the strips together will be pricey, so we’re also putting out the books in installments of 6 mos at a time. I really felt bad about the high price point until I got my proof copy of Installment 1, Which is titled TRY THE JERKY.
All feelings of doubt are erased. The strips, in full color, are stunning. In hi-res, they look 1000 times better than they do online at 72 dpi. Details that I slaved on that don’t really appear on the site are obvious and eye-popping. So yeah, You can get this one here.I should have Issue 2 (the second 6 months) done by this weekend, and Year 1 (12 months) shortly thereafter. If you want to hold out for the 12 month collection, you won’t have long to wait.
[edit] oops, found one last big old typo, gotta fix. Book will be up in the next 12 hours.
Wish I’d been that mature and upstanding when I was younger.
Pfft, I’ve been the good guy many many times, young ladies can be quite manipulative at times….
Though this seems like she’s truly been through a horrific ordeal :/
Never been caught in that trap myself, but more than once I’ve heard a friend say “And then she cried…” (Then what?) “So I held her.” (And then?) “Well, one thing led to another….”
Not being a dumbass? Dude, he is there.
If he was smart he would not be there.
I disagree. The fact that he’s there shows his character.
I have some exes that, even though things ended badly, I’d still be there for if shit really hit the fan because there were once feelings there, and I’m not a douche.
Big difference between an ex who things didnt work out with, and a crazy ex who betrayed your trust and hurt you.
I’m with Joey. I don’t think there’s anybody I’ve ever cared about who I wouldn’t try to help in a situation like Heidi’s. The #1 thing I’d do differently than Mick is doing is that I would’ve brought somebody along. (Preferably Joe, he seems to have his shit together.) That pretty clearly communicates “I’m not here to bone you,” both to Heidi and to Alex.
It shows that he’s a pushover for anyone who has a sob story. This woman is bad news.
I dunno, I’d say “savagely beaten and had to kill somebody to save her own life” counts as a little more than just “a sob story”. Not that Heidi isn’t still bad news, mind you, but I really don’t think Mick’s being a pushover here. The big question as far as I’m concerned is whether he’ll be able to continue to stick to his guns instead of falling down the slippery slope that The Redneck alluded to. I think he will, but time (and Hynes & Grant) will tell.
savagely beaten = problem
killed a guy, TO SAVE OWN LIFE = no problem
Or am I being heartless (maybe armchair commando?) here?
My impression (based what I’ve heard from people who’ve had to do it) is that it’s emotionally brutal to kill somebody in self-defense, no matter how well-justified it was. I can believe it; I suspect if I ever had to do it, I’d second-guess myself for the rest of my life. Of course, I’d have a life to do that with, so it beats the alternative.
Mick’s playing cautious, good for him, but he’s still going to get into a modicum of trouble, I mean c’mon, it’s Mick!
As for myself. I played the good guy until it wound up creating the asshole bad guy. Now I’m more in a neutral territory and am no fuck around when it comes to mates. I’m nowhere near perfect, but I’m not the idiot or asshole I was.
No, the ‘dumbass’ started as soon as he drove over there.
Have you checked out these guys on youtube. They did an extensive test of the .45ACP vs. 9mm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06aRQ-ejqmU (its a funny video)
he’s going to stixk his dick in her, RIGHT? I was so sure damn it
