Omar’s Damage Control
Where is his plane going? Probably Moscow.
The Obamascare continues to wane. I am now seeing AR-15s on the shelves, here in Dallas, as well as AK-47s, once again – Cabela’s had a few, as did Bass Pro. And not even overpriced! (Much) $800 for a Bushmaster, $1200 for a Colt. $600 for a WASR, but it came with a really cool ATI stock and a red dot sight.
Magazines are back in stock, and for all those morons who bought AR mags at $90 a pop three months ago… I feel bad for ya, son.
Apparently there’s been a huge shipment of Tula 7.62 x 39mm in Dallas. Every shop I know, and most Walmarts, were carrying stacks of it for $6/box as of Friday. .223 is available at the Walmart in North Irving, and I’ve seen pretty much everything from .380 to .30-06 at every sporting goods shop I’ve hit. Not ALL the calibers at each store, mind you – you have to shop around.
But .22 LR is still a fucking ghost.
The Obamascare will end soon. Like it did last time. I expect most ammo will be readily available, at normal prices, by September.
Rejoice!
Wonder if he still has his Turkish Passport.
“They’ll never find me in the mountains of Kurdistan! What do you mean Erdoğan made drinking illegal?”
*flies back*
Hah hah well they’re trying to make it illegal, but I was in Istanbul a year ago and they haven’t quite accomplished it. Besides, if they try to outlaw raki, we’ll see protests that’ll dwarf what’s going on there right now.
Not Constantinople?
Be honest.
You don’t feel too bad for the people who spent $90 on magazines. You probably laughed at them for a while.
I may have mocked them openly on this very site.
September seems to be some sort of common timeline for some reason. I was told by someone at Cabela’s that they’d have G30 mags in stock then. At the moment, I can’t find even knockoff brands for sale at any price.
Because that’s about when the last Obamascare of 2008 stopped – the next September.
I’ve seen a few specials on bushmasters with a red dot sight for under 700.
How soon before Bidenscare[tm]? Or for that matter Hillaryscare[tm]?
My local Rural King had .22lr, those 333 boxes of Federal (?) and are carrying lots of .308 and some 7.62 and .556. Some pistol calibers but at nutty prices.
I’m seeing more ammo too. My local gunshop says he’s getting more of his orders filled.
I found bulk .22 at 2 stores (still a bit more expensive than it should be). There’s also been plenty of 7.62*39 around here (steelcase). Pistol rounds are still thin on the ground, and hollowpoints can’t be had around here for love or money.
Hmmm…Mick’s wearin’ shades. Someone has had some variety of fun.
Obviously, Omar intends to flee to Hong Kong, Moscow, and then Ecuador. XD
Aw c’mon, I like Omar!
I’ve come to like him, anyway. Sure don’t wanna see him disappear..
hehehee though
Oh, he’ll be back.
C’mon now! Omar’s view out the window is of a Airbust 310 winglet – yet the silhouette is of a Boeing 747. Arrrrggghhhh.
Yeah, I’m a wingnut. I’ll be okay — after a while….
No worries. I agonize anytime I have to draw a specific model of gun in this strip, because wingnuts have NOTHING on gun nuts when it comes to critiquing tiny details.
Walmart here has bunches 7m and .300 win and some 22-250, one box of .40 and shogun shells. That’s it.
“shogun” heh. Totally a slip because the TV mini-series Shogun is on my TV right now. Shoulda been “shotgun”.
Don’t worry, the NRA’ll think of another way to make people think the black helicopters are coming so they can keep their real constituency (gun & ammo manufacturers) happy.
I already have your next scare. HR 2566 To modify the definition of armor piercing ammunition to better capture its capabilities.
Well, now it’s September. Your prediction was…optimistic. At least in my area, .22lr is still as rare as powdered unicorn horn. 9mm and .45 acp are slowly reappearing, but at higher prices. Reloading components are also, well, famine and worse famine. LP and SP primers are easier to find than .22lr, but not much. Powder and cast lead bullets can be had, but plated or jacketed are also very scarce. Thanks for the strip, it’s a fun read.
