This is such a blatant cry for attention that I can’t help but give some to him. But probably not the kind of attention he wanted.
Jim, as an actor, you help tell stories. And Kick Ass 2 has nothing to do with Sandy Hook. It has nothing to do with your stances on gun control.

actors are, by their very nature, atomic attention whores. he just needed to do his version of cartwheels while wearing a bikini.
Just like everyone else who flipped out about gun control post-shooting, he’s demonstrating the fact that he didn’t actually care much about guns or violence before the shooting. I know a few people who are strongly anti-gun and I have to respect them for actually holding that belief year round, not just squawking about it when a tragedy occurs.
Actors are bad. I’d never want one in my home.

What? After his Hee Haw stunt, I decided to no longer support his career, but I hadn’t heard about KA2. I want to see the movie, but do I see it to spite him for his non-support for it, or do I avoid it so as to not contribute to his pocket padding? Perhaps I’m over-thinking this. Need moar coffee…

I have to give all of you credit for changing my mind about gun control. I used to be for much stronger controls because there are requirements to drive but that does not prevent accidents. However, I really disliked Heston because actors need to stick to acting and keep their opinions to themselves. I will see JA2 because the first one was cool and well Jim Carey already got his money.
Refusing to see JA2 will not keep money out of Carey’s pocket because they have already given him the money.
There was lots of outcry about the first movie and too much violence but that is the point that it is an over-the-top movie. Enjoy!

Actors don’t get paid at the end of the job, like day laborers. Google “residuals.” Every time your local station runs Alien, Sigourney Weaver’s pocketbook goes ka-chink. And they run it because Alien was popular. But nobody runs Battlefield Earth.
Battlefield: Earth suffers from poor marketing. If it had only been billed as a comedy and given a laff track, it would have made a fortune. Then again, it might just be me. There is just something about badly shot scenes of John Travolta clomping around in jack boots wearing klingon hairpieces and spouting off ridiculous lines that makes me laugh until my sides ache.
read the book terl actually talked like that in the book he was a bigoted, sadistic alien from the planet Psychlo. the book is around 1000 pages written in the old pulp fiction style and published in 1982. It could have been updated nicely, but L.Ron Hubbard is a prophet to the Scientologists so Travolta didn’t wanna change any of the wording. He cut parts out, but then the movie would have been about 7 hours if he hadn’t
