The Secret 2
It’s like he’ll have to wait to watch it on TV or something.
As many of you know, however, N.D.A.s are no laughing matter. I have had military friends, and even lovers, who straight up could not talk about certain things. Same goes for the entertainment industry, and I have labored under Nondisclosure agreements in the tech industry a few times.
Some of you also know that I unabashedly and unironically love the music of Beyoncé. This has shocked more than a few people, and gained me derision from various other fellow metal/industrial punks, but IDNGASFF. She’s got a damn good voice for a pop diva, and she’s good at coming up with phat dance hooks.
This video is a tad NSFW, it should be warned.
You sir, need to get the fuck out of my head! No really, there is not room for you here any more! Our music choices and preferences are remarkably similar. I was just rocking out to this song on my mp3 player today. Her ability to make me listen to pop music boggles the mind.
Beyoncé makes me question my identity as straight female.
NDAs are serious shit. Everyone at my company who works on making our network work with a specific handset has to sign one, and they don’t blab even while drunk. Hell, I’m not signatory and I don’t name names!
She is seriously easy on the eyes and just sorta oozes strength and sex.
Why should that question be disturbing? 😉
And yeah, she’s several different kinds of sexy. Her and, God help me, Rihanna. Yummy.
Ah, Bouncy Knolls…
When I drove the Google Maps car, I signed a 24 page NDA.
I can see why. Invading privacy while doing it as a job has to be pretty shitty. Furthers the Big Brother Police State.
Decent tune, I can see spinning it at the local tittay bar, but the video doesn’t do much for me.
Got used to the NDA kind of thing a long, long time ago… Used to be a member of SUBDEVGRU ONE. My then-girlfriend (now wife) was part of Naval Maritime Intelligence Command. Even our pillow talk was classified. 😀
Actual conversation between us:
“Hey, honey! How was your day?”
“What’s your need-to-know?”
Hahahahaha! I know how that goes.
Actual conversation between me and my then-boyfriend:
“Bad day at work?”
“Yeah.”
“Can you tell me about it?”
“No.”
Not sure if it’s just my habit of remembering snippets of books I haven’t read in years, but do I detect a Tom Clancy reference?
The “classified pillow-talk” line. Yeah, that came from Clancy. Wife and I both found it quite funny.
NDA’s…i have no issue respecting those. maybe it’s from being friends with too many military people, and understanding that i do NOT have a clearance for that kind of shit?
or as one of my FAVORITE books said it… “this is WAY above my pay grade”. (quote from a firt leutenant when told some super secret shit. the book is Spots the Space Marine by MCA Hogarth, and it is a BADASS sci-fi. available in e-book or hard copy.)
Didn’t Games Workshop sue the author over the book title?
*looks it up*
Fucking morons. You can’t trademark the idea of Space Marines being called Space Marines.
It might be due to a frequently-unrealized trait of US trademark law: unlike patents and copyrights, trademarks need to be actively defended. If somebody later came out with “Space Marines: The Miniatures Game”, and Games Workshop hadn’t sued Hogarth, they would be in a weaker legal position. Now, from the little I know about this case, they seem to have gone about things in the wrong way, but that could be what prompted their actions.
Of course, GW could just be jackasses. I try not to presume malice where idiocy would suffice, though.
GW jackasses? Maybe. I used to know a guy that worked for them. He told me that their official business mission statement (or whatever corp. culture calls them…) was three words: “Total World Domination.”
Speaking of Space Marines… I read an article called “Semper Fly: in PopSci a while back about this. The Marine Corps is taking space technology developments of the past decade (Notably, SpaceShip 1 &2) very seriously and they apparently have a unit in its nascent stages that being called the Marine Corps Space Integration Center. The concept art for the article was kinda cool too, the craft were wearing a composite of the modern Air Force wings with the Marine globe and anchor superimposed on it.
Found the article: http://www.popsci.com/military-aviation-space/article/2006-12/semper-fly-marines-space
+1 for Spots the Space Marine, good cookies too.
entering the corporate world, I’m seeing more and more NDAs… everything has to be such a federal fucking issue if you want to be the top company…
Sure kills the conversation. I can’t talk to a friend about what he’s writing these days because everything he writes is now covered by an NDA for the Hollywood studio he’s working with.
The Municipal agencies in Chicago are going the direction of NDA’s for certain departments. For them, I think it is more an attempt to end run the 1st Amendment in their fight against unions than actual shit that needs to be NDA’d. I had to sign one or two when I worked for Sony back in 04 though…the potential penalties are enough to make one want to keep quiet though.
I don’t mind the N.D.A. itself, it’s when I am cleared for shit that I never wanted to know that makes me drink too much.
Omar’s shirt is unimpressed.
Seriously, am I the only person who sees eyes where those pockets are?
Not any more. 😛
