I can already see what some of you are going to post – that he shouldn’t have sold the guns to her at all.
1. She stole a motorcycle – but charges were never pressed.
2. She is not addicted to drugs at this time.
3. She is not a terrorist or enemy of the USA.
Yes, yes, those of you who work in gun shops or have worked such are going to kvetch. Suck it up – it’s just a comic.
And yes, for those asking, her first season on the fictional show “Best Shooter” was 5 years ago. She is now 23.
I think the real question what needs answering is, is that rack natural or synthetic?
Made of all natural molecules.
Doesn’t matter. I don’t think I want to attempt to be friends with Alex.
Damn she’s a bitch. Of the type that my wife argues is proof that while it’s fine to have a long term relationship with a man, women are for one night stands or just friends. Goddamn she is sexist.
Are they real? REAL EXPENSIVE!
Re the alt text: Or rather, so you *don’t* hear. (Or maybe, so you *can* hear, years later.) That’s kinda the point.
BTW, since I’ve started often reading comics on an iThing, alt-text has become a bit of a minor annoyance. Or rather, knowing that it’s there and I can’t get it, is annoying. Please consider making the alt-text another subtitle instead. The concept was cute back in the day, like when XKCD was just starting… but it’s been overcome by events.
PS: Hi Dex!
Wait, what? There is alt text? So I have only been. Getting 1/2 the comic?
Re: She’s 23, I was counting on my fingers and reached the same conclusion, a couple days ago.
She didn’t steal the motorcycle — just borrowed it in self-defence.
Been there. Done something very like that. And returned it with a full tank later.
Meh. NICS said go, so unless I have a bad feeling, it gets transferred.
Combine that with the NFA stamps, and she’s good to go.
I dunno. When you’re about to sell guns to a person who states an explicit intent to commit crimes with them, I feel like you kinda have an obligation to, y’know, not.
Well, there’s committing a crime, and then there’s breaking the law. I don’t think they’re always quite the same. Then again, law enforcement might argue.
Crime or joke? I don’t know. Plus it’s just a municipal fine. If anything happens, you know who to go to.
Besides, as I alluded to, those NFA stamps come with a nice background check, and are not cheap in general (Base cost above wholesale of the suppressor is around $400, plus six months+ on background checks) so if she’s willing to put all that at risk for some shooting indoors . . . what can you do?
Besides, she never claimed she was going to do it, just that she’d done illegal things before. That the Feds cleared her for. They like to say they know better than me, so that’s how I treat it.
Wonder what the authors are going to do with such a thoroughly unlikable character?
It should be epic.
I like it! I’m enjoying it.
I could care less for most of the videos and don’t miss them really. Except for the few which were genuinely educational, I find their inclusion distracting.
My general vote is:
nix on the pro-gun preaching. We get it; really we do. And there was that strip a while back that was all about the detail of some firing pin’s location or some such. Yawn..
BUT..
ASIDE from that–
MUCHOS KUDOS! I love the sarcasm, the plot, the insights, the humor.
Oh yeah and the Obama-as-demon ones: genius.
Just found the comic from two lumps its cool. However, Did you used to work for TNT. WHy the FUCK would you show the guy going out for coffee with Alex and shooting at the range in the store and then introduce her? TNT would do this crap all the time. Maybe your archive is just out of order but I just read the comics from 2012 and now. She proposition the guy and they went to the cool goth coffee shop. Is this a flashback on how he first met her? Damnit I expect better out of my FREE webcomics. Ok done ranting since I have forgotten the name of the main character. Cool comic and good work. Do you visit phoenix comicon?
Ok, that was a bit to troll like. Sorry my asshole is showing.
Please put down the vodka and step away from the internet.
Are you aware that the archive page is broken, and out of order?
Haven’t done Phoenix yet – might next year.
