Haven’t we all done this? I know I have. I mean, I didn’t message someone about how I wanted their cock in my mouth, but I… yeah. Leaving that there.
More to come on the LCR. I got to fire a couple of these, in .38 and .357 mag. Still want to try the new LCR .22, think it might be fun as fuck.
LCR was on my short (heh) list of snubbies, until I was lured back into 1911land. I’m still thinking about picking one up, if I can snag it cheap-ish.
Probably Omar. Calling it now.
Or the 1911 guy.
You do realize that there is character named Joe, who is also Mick’s friend?
Yes, your point?
And that’s why I route all of my IM traffic through irssi. I just have to remove the up-arrow key from my keyboard, and I am totally safe!
I’m also not 100% sure what a wild stallion tastes like, but it’s probably not all that pleasant.
What? No alt text? 😛
The hover/alt-text is one of the many reasons I love this comic.
Huh. I remember typing it in, but I guess it didn’t save.
+1 on the alt text.
Also, I once may or may not have posted my password to everything in a crowded IRC because of a lag on an alt-tab. It felt like it took forever to get that mistake scrubbed out. And, it was so obviously a password that other people in the room were joking that they were going to hit my Amazon account. *shame*
Alt text worked for me, but only after I found the right location.
I’ve done something similar with a password on IRC, although in my case it was a smallish IRC channel, and it was my work password. I can’t blame alt-tab, though; for me the issue was that a Windows window can appear focused in VMware (using Unity) when the window that actually has focus is the Mac window on the other side of the screen. That was just one place I had to change, though (albeit an important one), which is of course a major reason to minimize password reuse!
I wonder if you could use a really embarrassing phrase (like Joe’s) as a passphrase; that way, if you typed it in the wrong window, you’d get made fun of but nobody would realize you had just laid out your password for everybody to see and you could avoid that panicked “gotta change passwords while I still have money in my bank account!” feeling.
Username: jgrant
Password: fuck my whore ass with a cactus
Hm. This might be a good idear.
Incidentally, I put the alt text in right before you posted.
Yeah, I think you put it in between me going to the front page and clicking the comments link, which made me assume that it had been working and I’d just missed it somehow the first time.
Is “.357 S&W” a typo or a typing shortcut? I’m familiar with the .357 Magnum, the .38 Special and the .38 S&W but not the “.357 S&W.”
.38 S&W is a much older cartridge than the .38 Special. Both cartridge and bullet are slightly wider than .38 Special/.357, but only by a few thousandths, so some .38 S&W cartridges will fit in some .38 Special/.357 chambers. That’s not a problem, but the reverse would be. Fortunately, the older cartridge is significantly shorter than even the .38 Special and I doubt you could find a revolver for the former which could chamber the latter.
Sorry. I have a matched pair of S&W Terrier revolvers in .38 S&W my paternal grandfather purchased in late ’39 or early ’40 which I treasure and like to brag about. 🙂
The full technical name is often “.357 S&W Magnum.” I’ve heard it called all of the above.
Nowadays, it’s mostly used to identify the ammo itself, not the caliber of the firearm, because .357 Sig is also becoming more common.
I have actually never done that.
At least, not by accident. But I’ve done it on purpose (and then said it was an accident, oops & stuff, oh no blush blush etc)
because I think it’s fun.
Bill & Ted? I’d’ve thought rather, Napoleon Dynamite….
I broke my revolver cherry last spring buying a neighbor’s Ruger SP101, 2 1/2″ barrel, pluse decent holster, 2 Maxfire speed-loaders, and a bunch of assorted .38 and .357 ammo, for $350. I felt like a thief, and even told him that $400 would have been stealing from him… But he had PCS orders to Japan, couldn’t take it with him, didn’t want to risk storing it for 3-4 years… and he knew I’d take good care of it. I bought a bunch more ammo for it ranging from SWC up to full-house Magnum rounds. First range session was an eye-opener. SWC’s, not bad at all. full-bore .38, a bit of kick. Max-power Magnum rounds – Holy Fucking Batshit, Fatman! I managed 15 rounds of those on each hand, then moved on to the 1911…. Hands definitely hurt the next day, I’ve gotten soft. Not enough shooting OR manual labor.
I don’t even want to THINK about running .357 through a LCR….
can’t stop giggling at “you taste like a wild stallion”
Heh. I seem to remember ALT-TAB getting me into trouble at work once when I truthfully called this cunt a wicked wench. I don’t use the C-word lightly.
