So what’s wrong with making it harder? Background checks at dealers have prevented a huge number of sales to people that can’t own guns. Make them universal. Why not find out if that guy who wants to buy your gun is actually allowed to buy it?
Have they really? And if those people were really prohibited persons illegally attempting to acquire weapons, why have prosecutions been so miniscule? As in the mid double digits?
The “universal” system will have the exact same vulnerabilities as the current system. The most reliable way for a dangerous prohibited person to circumvent either is with a straw buyer and that won’t change in the least. All UBCs are good for is back door registration.
“Among the findings is the fact that mass shootings have a disproportionate impact on women – whereas women make up only 13 percent of total gun homicide victims, they make up 51 percent of mass shooting victims.”
Women make up about 50 percent of the population. What is disproportionate is the number of men killed in homicides. These people are idiots.
Well, maybe the women mind being shot more, so even though they’re not getting shot any more often than men, it has a greater psycholo…
No, wait. I get it. A homicide victim is dead but a mass shooting victim could survive. That’s why it has a greater impact. It’s because they … er … let me think this one through again.
“In response to reports of a murder-suicide where it has been reported that a grandfather with a *prior criminal record that should have prohibited him from possessing firearms* killed six grandchildren ranging in age from 3 months to 10 years old and his daughter in Bell, FL, Everytown for Gun Safety calls on elected officials pass stronger gun laws.”
This is cut and paste from their site, the asterisks are a highlighted section. Two observations: 1- The highlighted section points out the lack of enforcement of existing laws and then in the same sentence they call for more laws. This is a prime example of the basic stupidity of this type of group. 2- The writer needs grammer lessons.

So…apparently, they are calling for more women to be killed in “normal” “gun homicides” to even this out?
Hey! I have a great idea. Since most teachers are women. And most schools are gun free zones. And most mass murders that they are talking about happen in those zones….including the schools, which pumps up the numbers of women…….
Tell ya what, Bloomberg…. you get cops to stop shooting so many innocent people, and get a those cops shooting innocent people convicted rightfully of murder, then maybe we’ll start talking. Until then, STFU!
Mr. Grant, a bit offtopic, but I figure I’d ask here. Any cons you recommend in the DFW area, specifically those that are good for cosplay? Myself and my girlfriend are looking to do it. We know about A-kon, but don’t know of any other good ones here.
Animefest is USUALLY Labor Day Weekend, and we usually vend there. Couldn’t this year, as they changed the date for 2014. Although not as big as A-Kon, it’s still pretty cool.
Comic Con Dallas has, AFAIK, two dates annually – one in springtime, one in fall. We haven’t vended there yet.
Dunno if you like furcons, but Furry Fiesta this year was bitchin’.
Heisenberg? Is that you?
Nice background, tho i don’t think that is the kind of firearms Mick wants. It does not react well with bullets
That man is superhuman.
Everything I have ever seen him do is beyond the abilities of mere mortals.
LOOK AT THE SLOW-MO! His trigger finger moves faster than the hammer! I think he moves faster than the damn bullets …
Jerry is a motherfucking BEAST. Have you seen his Mossberg videos? Ho. Lee. SHIT.
“We need stronger laws because people keep breaking them.” Unless you have a deity in your back pocket ready to help you circumvent free will…

No that’s an example of doublethink.
“with a prior criminal record that should have prohibited him from possessing firearms”
Aww gee, a law restricting guns and the bad guy still managed to get one. You don’t say.
you suckered me into giving free clicks to Moms Demand Attention – not cool.
“Suckered?” What, you couldn’t mouse over? Do you need a tissue for your issue?
Not so easily accomplished on a smartphone.
While we’re on the subject of the things you apparently don’t give a shit about, the site isn’t particularly mobile friendly. FYI.
“The chair is against the wall.”
“John has a long mustache.”
“Molasses tomorrow will bring forth cognac.”
The significant owl hoots in the night.
Hedge hates it when that happens.

LET’S ARM THE WOMEN IN SCHOOLS

I could spend all day watching Jerry shoot.
But then I wouldn’t be going to the range myself!
Nothing to do with today’s comic or comments…but Holder is resigning! Happy dance time! 🙂

Well, that that explains why y’all are never at Dragoncon. I’d find the comics alley just to shake your hands! Okay, and spend too much on merch.
We’ve been trying to find an in on DragonCon for the last couple of years, but it’s never worked out.
