Something something cow something milk for free.
Bear with it. I think the storyline will surprise a few people.
Let’s do more 2, the Ranting Gryphon, who I totally love as a comedian.

Yikes, having to marry two males… Double the fun, Double the trouble tho… hmm.. decisions…
all women are insane by modern medical standards…
you just settle for level of insanity you can live with…
I’m polyamorous, but I wouldn’t want to marry all of my partners (although I would marry more than one of them, were than an option.) It would be entirely too complicated, for starters: If I marry all of mine, and partner A marries all of hers, including the ones were not mutually dating, how am I legally entangled with her others? I’m not against polyamorous marriages being legal, quite the opposite, but I don’t see it as likely any time soon and I think it’s likely to end up as trying to shoehorn many different relationship models into the a framework into which they won’t necessarily fit.
@Fred-
I think first you have to define the term “marry”- what does it mean, what do you expect to get from it?
Easy. You can only have one marriage (although it can be with as many people who can legally consent). It’s a reciprocal obligation amongst the signatories, and you can’t have two. That is managable from the governmental/tax/proxy POV.
Personally? Don’t care who anyone marries, or how many, or in what way, so long as all parties are consenting adults.
Sometimes I think that, with wages stagnating and cost-of-living going up, a polyamorous household with kids might be a good idea. I hear constantly about 2-parent families complaining the parents are overworked, underpaid, and that taking care of kids is a second full-time job. So why not a 3-adult household, with 2 being the breadwinners and one being a stay-at-home parent taking care of kids and household?
If polyamorous marriage gets legalized, it makes me wonder what the marriage tax credit is going to change to. And how would inheritance work? A thought experiments to play out.
One of Heinlein’s predictions of future society.
Today’s alt-text, “Polyamory means you deal with the crazy of more than one woman at a time. God help you,” is more-or-less my sister’s fridge logic reaction to Heinlein’s poly Lunar society in “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.” A permanent sexual relationship with just one other person is hard enough. Adding more, whether temporarily or permanently, makes things much, much more difficult.
…..and remembering yesterday’s comic, could you get a discount from the drive-in Elvis impersonator chapel if you’re a repeat customer, or do you have to marry in bulk all at once?
Sam’s Club bargain-bulk-sale marriage package!
Ol’ Sam is *already* spinning in his grave! 😀
Love me some 2! JGrant, you ever listen to any of the Sean Kennedy rants/rant radio stuff?
So, does the crazy increase in a straight-line progression (Cr x P), or geometrically (Cr^P)?
Geometrically.
Actually been there, briefly. DEFINITELY a geometric progression. o.O
At least it’s not logarithmic …
I understand that the logarhythm method doesn’t really work anyway.
😀
The curve of crazy probably does shift to logarithmic past a certain value. Then probably flattens right the hell out when the numbers rise so high that you physically can’t talk to any more people in one day.
Of course, by that point, you’re long dead…
Going out on a limb here: Mick, Alex, and Heidi have a 3-some. Heidi and Alex start seeing more of each other than they do of Mick. Heidi and Alex take a road trip to New Mexico and get married. Mick suffers a psychological break and starts dating Joe.
Meanwhile Omar and Maria, now married, adopt a bakers dozen orphan refugee children.
Sounds plausible.
Joe has better taste than that. (Everything else seems legit, though.)
