And a happy Beltane to you and yours! It’s actually warm enough today here in Wisconsin to celebrate properly, but none of my partners have the day free. (Plus I’m in school until 20:00 tonight, so we couldn’t even rush out to a forest preserve after work or something.)

I would just like to say that I finally saw “The Watchmen” the other day and now understand the previous strip where Tom fantasizes about being asked to save the soccer moms and saying “no.”
I laughed for a solid ten minutes during the movie, much to the consternation of my sister.
Attempts at explanation were met with only quizzical looks.
That’s bad ass.
It truly enhanced my understanding of the comic. And gave me something positive to say about the movie.
Ehn. Mel and I are huge fans of the original comics, and although there were a lot of corners cut for length… I thought it was pretty damn true to the series. I especially liked the portrayal of Rorschach.
Yeah, I’m sorta lame when it comes to comic book movies. If it isn’t Captain American punching mutant Nazis in the face, my tiny frat boy brain can’t stay focused for more than an hour or so. That being said, I feel that a movie specifically about The Comedian would be awesome.

Having met, dated, and married my current husband starting when he was fifty-eight, I’m not seeing Omar’s problem here. (BaldING, check. Skinny rather than fat, but hey. Late fifties, check. Gray beard, check.) I mean, it’s like explaining to someone that yes, Virginia, you CAN buy fruit out of season these days…
