10 days and counting. Gonna be crazy as shit, as usual. We’ll be in Booth #1230, as usual. FTF is still a new comic, so it won’t have a huge presence at the con, so to speak – nothing on the program list or anything, and not on the banner. We will be there mostly with our more famous comic, Two Lumps. The only FTF merch on hand will be the FOABS shirt, which we will have plenty of in men’s sizes S-XXXL. But I’ll sketch for anyone who wants one, or we can jaw about guns or whatever. And if you like cats, well, there’s gonna be all of our OTHER merch in a big damn pile on the table.

There is one swift way of dealing with this. Mall security (at least, I assume from past comics the store is in a mall or at least adjacent). It’s much like the mighty ban-hammer. I hope he’s also smart enough to get a restraining order against her without quibbling too much about it.

TheYankeeMarshal is a cool guy. I really like his humor.
He does make a difficult issue more clear, but he missed an important point; in Florida, second degree murder does not require malice or intent. The relevant statute-
(2) The unlawful killing of a human being, when perpetrated by any act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind regardless of human life, although without any premeditated design to effect the death of any particular individual, is murder in the second degree and constitutes a felony of the first degree, punishable by imprisonment for a term of years not exceeding life or as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
I think that it all boils down to whether or not Zimmerman intentionally put himself in harms way. And that come down to what he was doing… If he was simply following the kid and just watching, then he’s innocent. If he confronted Treyvon and started screaming at him before they got into their scuffle, then he’s guilty as sin.
Just goes to show how easily things can get out of hand, it’s a warning to all of us!

Ahhhh..no. Got a couple of problems with that guy.
1 – “I’m a little bit racist, so everyone else must be too” and he says it like it’s no big deal.
Like being a little bit country or a little bit rock & roll.
2 – If he says “cupcakes!” one more time, I’m gonna puke hard, albeit in a cute manner, of course.

Having a car accident through negligence is not the same thing. The unfortunate, cupcake-delivering driver DIDN’T AIM THE CAR (one hopes). At some point, Zimmerman did draw his pistol and aimed it right at Trayvon, and pulled the trigger.
Even in the former situation, the driver can and should be held liable for manslaughter. It does teach a lesson, as in, be more careful and don’t put yourself in that situation ever again.
When it’s just a Dickie-Peterson-Cherub-of-Justice, type person, it’s funny. Even kinda cute. Like delivering cupcakes to the elderly.
Put a gun in Dickie Peterson’s hand: it not only ceases to be funny, very fast, but becomes an nauseatingly wrong situation, very fast.
