Oh me oh my, I love makin’ people get their clutchin’ pearls ready on they’s faintin’ couches!
Having been through a couple house fires in my youth, I gotta tell ya: They suck. You can literally lose everything in one night. Everything you love, everything you cherish – gone that fast.
Plus the smell, jesus, the stink of a house fire is one that sits with you for the rest of your fucking life. I can be driving down the freeway, and just get a whiff of a house fire somewhere in the nearest mile, and just… cold shudders.
If you’re at Comic Con, come say hi to us at booth 1230!
If you’re planning on robbing us while we’re away, know that our house sitters have been given orders to shoot to kill!
It’s a bit more expanded in this article

Hey, I have two swords a lot like that. Mine have rounded tips, not tapers and balls, but the hilts are the same.
Swords, bullets, hammers, it doesn’t matter. Unless you disconnect the central nervous system, reduce blood pressure until it causes unconsciousness, or you damage the structural components of the body to prevent movement that person remains capable of staying in the fight.
Now psychologically they may stop before those points are reached, but the capability remains.
There’s a fight in one of the Norse sagas in which one guy lops off one of the other guy’s legs. And actually has to tell him “No need to look, the leg is off”.
Said it once, said it a million times. If you take fighting advice from a movie (especialy Hollywood) it will get you hurt/maimed/killed.
Same goes for Bear Grylls and survival advice to some degree.
I had a visual of Archie (the goldfish) with a revolver and that angry grin of his… and bust out laughing…

Yes, and those cats take their responsibility very seriously!
Talking about cats, do you think this might be Ebenezer’s revenge?
Yay! Yet another Look Around You reference!
Come now Alex, even a toddler knows a man’s first reaction when his girlfriend says “you might want to sit down” is going to be “oh god, you’re pregnant.”
Check the gun news while you are Convention-ning.
DARBY, Pa. (AP) — A psychiatrist who was grazed by gunfire from a patient at a hospital on Thursday helped stop the patient by apparently using his own weapon to shoot and wound him, but not before a caseworker was killed, authorities said.
“Without that firearm, this guy (the patient) could have went out in the hallway and just walked down the offices until he ran out of ammunition,” the chief (of Police) said.
I’m with you on the smell flashing back to a house fire. And that stomach dropping feeling that comes with the memory. Sucks is an excellent word choice.
Total change of topic, sorry…
I’m hoping to get your opinion of this video:
…it seems to me as though he chose his location based on the nearby body of water,
in order to magnify the sound of the shots for the video.
My problem here is that I don’t see any protective earthen backstop, nor any equivalent method of stopping the rounds from hitting any stray passers-by who might catch a stray bullet while strolling thru the woods on the far side of the lake.
I’m (without a doubt) not nearly as well-trained as you in gun safety, so I wanted to check with you – does this strike you as reckless, or unsafe behavior, or is there something in this video that I’m overlooking?
Rules 1, 4, 5 and 6 violated. Arsehole.
In our family we have a rule about bad news, no calls after 9 pm or before 7 pm.
DMC_Run, it’s not just you; firing across or shallowly into a body of water like that strikes me as reckless. Perhaps there are elements that we can’t see in the video, but it seems like a pretty clear rule 4 violation.
“Eight or better. Don’t even bother us unless it’s at LEAST an eight…”

That’s FPS Russia, his dad owns all that land and he isn’t using anyone behind the camera so no rules broken. In a video he is shooting a 40mm bofors gun over the lake. I am pretty sure that if there were people over there as he says “they would have very bad day!” not to mention every swat team in his area would be called.
