The Big Meeting 4
Apr23
Guys, trust me: Don’t talk about your lovers in this way. Not to your other lovers, CERTAINLY not to your pals. They WILL find out. And slashed tires are the LEAST of your worries.
I really like this idea. Let’s see if anything comes of it. *chortles*
I don’t know why, but the first thought when I read bundyfest was of a big party, celebrating life and work of Al Bundy.
Better Al than Ted.
He would be a…shoe-in.
I find it ironic that members of what was once the countercultural movement are now “pay your taxes, follow the laws” types. Those who once said “never trust anyone over 35” are now in their 60s and 70s, and those who said “Don’t trust The Man/The System/ etc” are now the ones saying we should trust The Man and his System.
Kinda sad really, that Patriots are being called Anarchist terrorist and the like.
While I agree Bundy is no saint, from what I have read on this was that he stopped paying after they wanted him to sign on to some pretty shady contract.
That’s what happens when you get older. You tend to get more conservative the more possessions you have to lose.
It’s only ironic if it’s a true that those are the same people. I really don’t think the flower children from the 60s are the 30 year olds of today, like myself, who say this dick needs to pay for his fair use of public land. I would pay to hike on it, he should pay to let his damn cows graze on it.
Two things that do NOT go great together: knives and redheads.
I don’t see ‘Bundyfest’ going positively at all. “Rules-free” partying will not be as innocent as they make it sound and it’s just going to make the other side seem much more reasonable.
I do believe the Bundyfest was intended as a slight against Bundy’s protest of grazing fees.
On a gun question here. I’m in the market for a milsurp that I also plan on using for a deer rifle this year. Should I go for a Mosin or for a Mauser? Looking to spend 350 or less and I’ll be running it with open sights. What’s everyone’s recommendation? I’m guessing Micks choice would be Mosin of course.
Personally I’d go with a Mosin. Ammo is 100x cheaper and you can still get hunting loads for it. No real experience between shooting the two, but definitely make sure you’ve got the time to clean your mosin after firing milsurp ammo through.
I’m partial to Enfields myself, but if you’re set on Russian or Germam hardware, go with the Mosin.
I actually have an Enfield as well I just think its a rare enough gun not to go hunting with it. I got a BSA dispersal rifle for a song because the gun shop had it marked as an Indian made 303.
Have you considered a K31?
I hadn’t thought about a K31 just due to the ammo rarity. Being in the middle of KS I’m a bit limited on gunshops as well.
Lucked into a very nice 1942 Ishavek that has nice rifling and a fairly smooth trigger. For 160 OTD with all the accessories.
Seriously, the only individuals allowed to talk about lovers are straight women that talk about their husbands/boyfriends. Everyone else, ends up in deep sh*t.
