[ADD] Forgot to mention: I own an SKS of my own, and originally wanted to bubbafy it. However… once I fired it in the original config, I decided I liked it just as it is. However, I would very much like to try this aftermarket stock/mod out.
Did not know the shotgun statistic. And I bet none of the names you mentioned do either, which is scary.
Archibald has the rifle I was *juuuust* about to purchase before this current multiclusterfuck began. I bet *he* got to pay a reasonable price for in instead of getting to either wait for this shit blows over *again* (after two Obama elections I was just starting to hope prices my stablize/go back down but noooooo) or resign myself to paying Way To Damn High.

No “shoulder thing that goes up” or “full auto high capacity assault clips” ?
He noted it was now a machine gun, and mentioned the “high-capacity” “clip”–it holds a whole 20 ROUNDS! If it was only 10 rounds, it would’ve made him pause his shooting and think about what he was doing, and then he would’ve stopped.
…yes, I have actually heard this argument made. Apparently active shooters who have been planning for days to months, and sometimes even kill a family member, travel some distance (often by car), and continue killing, would suddenly have a flash of insight in the two seconds it took to reload. (Or the 10 seconds if he hadn’t modified the gun to use a detachable magazine.)
Speaking of, anybody out here have experience with how rapidly you can reload an SKS from a stripper clip? 10 seconds was a guess based off of one video I saw, but the video didn’t look very practiced.
I practice every time I go to the ranch. I can usually reload my SKS in between 3-5 seconds with strippers.
wish I had gotten my hands on the SVT-40 and Russian SKS I had my eyes on before all this bullcrap happened. SKS went from $400 to $950 overnight at the shop I was going too 🙁
I do believe that the greater majority of the people who think this way have had their total firearm exposure limited to videogames and movies, both which have a habit of exaggerating the effectiveness of abilities of well…everything.
Most of the people who believe this are Gun-404 and have never shot a semi-auto. The truly funny thing is, when I bought my Norinco in ’93, I couldn’t put the bayonet on it. Would have made it a “non-sporting import”. So, I got a spare bayonet off Ebay. Chopped it down, drilled it, and riveted on a beer opener. The Beeronet kept my cleaning rod in place, and made a sarcastic comment about the law. Sooo…, later on I got a Tapco folder. Learned about the “9 parts” rule. Spent about 3x as much on US-made parts, as I had on the gun. Anyways, now that it’s totally Bubbafied, it’s legal to put the bayonet on. Oh– and I have some THIRTY SEVEN round mags for it. Which are, of course, Jam-o-Matics. Meanwhile, my Yugo, being C&R, has always had its bayo and grenade launcher.
I originally wanted to bubba-out my Norinco, but then I fired it and…. dammit, I like the original config. It’s not even necessarily about the bayonet, but that it just feels right. I might do it someday, if only to use removable mags that hold more than 10… but right now, I like ‘er just as she is, with stripper clips and everything.
I did bubbafy my SKS. Then I took it to the range. I fired, IIRC, 15 rounds before deciding it sucked and restored it. Kept the bayo, though.
I picked up a lovely old

Thought about switching it for a Monte Carlo, then mentally kicked myself inna fork.Y’know, depending on how you parse it, a “Satanic Nazi Baby Killer” is someone who kills satanic Nazi babies, and I could see that being valid, on the same lines as the ancient D&D argument about paladins killing orc babies[1] (are they innately evil?), etc. On the other point, yeah, I kept trying to explain to my relatives about the difference between full auto and semi-auto weapons and they either couldn’t understand or didn’t want to understand.

I left my nice old SKS in the wood. The Bubbafied one is the Norinco I picked up in the early 90s.

A lady of my acquaintence in my circle of shooter friends owns an M1C carbine and she has some 15-round mags for it and a couple of 30-round magazines – and when she loads up with a 30-round mag her eyes bug out and glow red, a forked tongue comes out of her mouth and she seeks to create the music of the bloody screams of the innocent. Yes, even when she’s just plinking at the range.
Is she single?
One question that’s been running through my mind: Will any of these proposed restrictions apply to police? The grabbers insist that so-called assault weapons and standard capacity magazines are good for nothing but indiscriminately mowing down the innocent. Clearly civilian police have no need for such murder machines.
Silly prole, you think cops need to abide by the same rules we do? That’s quaint. Everyone knows cops are superheros that protect you from crime.

I love my sks and my makarof, they are well made and shot well. I have not read the earlier posts, But I am tired of ppl saying that the two most USED weapons in the world do not work………………….What is with you???? Quaint, good for nothing, not a real gun, talk about gun prejudice. But Go but a High point it’s ok.
What’s going on in the USA lately makes me sick to my stomach. I can’t believe that anyone would fall for the lies and bullshit they use to try to disarm the countries population, a bit at a time. Don’t give them a god damn thing. As soon as you let them alter the 2nd Amendment in any way, it’s the beginning of the end of your proud free nation. The people are the leaders of the country, not the damn politicians. They work for You, not the other way around. It’s part of your constitution that if a government tries to take away your rights, you have the right to remove them from office. Remember that bit, you may need to very soon. By any means necessary.
I still promote exiling Biden, Feinstein, Boxer, Schumer, Holder, Brady, and the rest of the anti-gun lobby for life, for frauds where they try to claim the above joke as truth. All gun control scams should be abolished back to the civil war, and all proponent politicians should be stripped of all resources and exiled to some Communist nation to enjoy their kinds of ‘law’ without poisoning our nation with the treason of gun control!
