J, it’s people like you that keep people like me, busy. I put in 11 hours in MASH Camp at Playa Del Fuego this past weekend. Including patching up a Ranger Coordinator.
Within 3 hours of arrival, I managed to fall off a moving vehicle and sprain my shoulder, elbow, and wrist, as well as get some road rash on my back. (I may have been underdressed for the occasion.) Nothing broken, just swollen. Didn’t really impact my burn in any way. Had a fuckin’ blast.
I made it to Alchemy after all 🙂 Yay for short-term mystery illness where you’re basically a double ended fountain for 18 hours and suddenly feel perfectly fine. Effigy this year *rocked* even tho it burned so hot that I (on outer perimeter, wearing thermal longjohns, BDUs, and then *quilted* lined BDUs) had stuff in zip locks in my *front* pockets (and I was facing *away* from the burn doing safety) in the *inside* BDUs which ended up heat shrinked together such that I had to *cut* the bags away to get my keys and stuff out… Yeah, it was HOT! I’ve done it for years, tho, so I know the magic way to stay unburnt is *MOAR LAYERS, HIPPIES! SAVE THE TUTUS AND FUR FOR THE BACK ROWS!* And the longjohns top, plus t shirt, plus a bdu shirt, plus a field jacket, plus a cotton vest on top, and a boonie hat, plus double gloves and sunscreen on my neck and ears and wet hair meant I was good to go at the end, other than the burn holes in my vest and field jacket and the missing hair on the backs of my calves. Good times! Man, there’s nothing like burning man events 😀
At least you didn’t have to patch up a guy who brought a fiddle to a knife fight.

I tend to enjoy doing dangerous things from time to time. It is truly in my best interests to concede to your wishes and not die, so I try not to. Honestly, I’ve fucked my arm up worse skateboarding than this little mishap.
