So: Has anyone else noticed that ammo, magazines, and especially AR-15s and AKs are coming back onto the market? The drought ain’t over, but it might seem, hmm….

Fucking Obamascare Mk II. The only thing I still can’t find for any reasonable price is .22 LR. Managed to score a single box of 50 from Cabela’s the other day, $8.95. But they only let you buy one box at a time. The next time Remington Golden 500 packs are back down to $22 a box, I’m grabbing 3000 rounds worth. Who knew that .22 LR would be the hardest ammo to find? And it sucks. Yes, I am a survivalist, but right now I’m down to 500ish rounds of .22, and dammit, one of the bonuses of that caliber is that the ammo is supposed to be CHEAP. For PLINKING. And RABBIT HUNTING. One glance at Gunbot shows .22 going for $.14 per round. SACRILEGE.

What’s your reasoning on this? I don’t see any reason it couldn’t happen again, people have not gotten any smarter.
Because we’re probably gonna still be out of ammo until 2016. I seriously think low stocks are the new normal.
Of course, Mark Warner could snag the DNC candidacy and people would still fly into a panic if he won.
If Chris Christie snagged the GOP candidacy and won? No panic, even though he’s as anti-gun Romney was.
Christie is going to flip sometime between now and 2016, adopt Obama’s social policies, and run for president as a Democrat.
In fact, should the “Criminal Relocation and Amnesty Act” (immigration reform) pass, I think we’ve seen the death of the two party system in this country, because all the so called republicans will be sprinting to be the first one on their knees slobbing knob to the immigrant lobby. And since most of the 11 million criminal aliens in this country come from places where they already have no rights, and only drug dealing criminal thugs and corrupt police thugs have guns, you can guess where OUR rights will go.
It will make us remember Obamascare II as the days of plenty, before the end times.
He already got the lap-band surgery after a whole bunch of people said they wouldn’t be vote for someone that obese.
How do you know he’s going to flip, did you use your crystal ball? Or are you basing it on him not being a complete ass to POTUS when they need financial aid?
By the way, Reagan would be considered to the left of Obama in many areas today, so I’m not too sure what your definition of Republican is.
Honestly? That’s probably about 20% crystal ball. The flip will happen though. I’d credit my decades of following politics closely for my insight, but this one….you’d have to be blind to not see it coming. See, the disaster relief was a convenient way to carrot and stick Christie. O now has him beholden because of all the good press and popularity being the guy who took care of his citizens when others failed garnered him.
In fact, the guy is so bought by the O administration, if he weren’t so fat, I’d expect to see his shoes under the podium wherever O makes a speech.
He’s going to let the NJ legislature gut the second amendment.
He is more popular at this moment with Democrats than Republicans.
It’s easy to see it coming.
As far as his presidential aspirations? Fatbodys don’t do lap banding that late in life unless they are desperate to prolong their existence for a reason. Lap band is the rich fat perspn’s way to lose weight without actually having to put down the pork roast. I’m fairly sure he did it at the behest of his handlers and the folks whispering 2016 in his ear.
Now, going 100% crystal ball? He flips, runs in 2016 as a Dem. Chooses Clinton as his Vp. Rides the tide of welfare victim and criminal alien votes into the WH. 2/3 through his first term he vaporlocks on a chocolate cruller and dies. Hillary gets backdoored as the first woman president, and taps Obama as her VP due to his “current experience”. They then go about solidifying Dem control of the country through handouts and amnesties. And the rest of us are forced to watch as the country crashes.

I’m surprised that Mick didn’t simply just have her blocked. Or done what so many people tend to do – contact the police or court system to get a protection order. People seem to be getting those at the first sign of any potential problem instead of trying to deal with the issue calmly and rationally. I’m not talking about crazy ex stalking you problems either, I’m talking about “My next door neighbor’s kids keep playing on my lawn!” problems.
I was at my favorite local-ish gun store to start the paperwork for a new toy earlier today, and not only was there no crowd (the “take-a-number” dispenser stood forlorn and sad), but the walls were lined with ARs, AKs, and various sundry other shootin’ irons. It was quite refreshing… not at all like the near riot when I went in to pick up my WASR-10 that I’d bought right before the election last year, and the last few visits were just sad… large crowds and nothing on the shelves except a few AK pistols.
We can only hope it lasts… the Democrats have sworn to try again this year, and it’s three more long years until this President is gone, with no guarantee of anyone better next time around…
The gun shortage dissipated back in March. I remember going to the Quantico PX and the guy behind the gun counter saying that the for anything made domestically, the shortage was over because people like Colt, Freedom Group, S&W, Sig, etc just paid everyone to go into overtime. AK manufacturers are taking longer because they use parts kits that have to clear customs.
Ammo is the problem, and when a state that has 12% of the population is talking large taxes on ammo purchases and background checks for ammo purchases, every gun owner in that state is going to clear out and buy what they can. People like to pretend that California is a anti-gun state, but the fact of the matter is that there are more gun owners there than any other state by virtue of the huge population(like how more people voted for Romney in California than in Texas).
Well, here in Southern California, the shortage was still going strong in March! heh…

Newark, New Jersey mayor Cory Booker might just decide to see if the Obama electoral magic works for more than Obama. Were he to run, he’d get serious notice from the DNC, since that would guarantee a huge black turnout in 2016. Watch and see.
I have mad respect for Booker, actually. He’s done a lot more for Newark then Obama did for IL.

As long as folks grab at $8.95 .22LR boxes, the .22 shortage will continue. The law of supply and demand is a harsh one, but since price controls are worse…
Uh. For 50 rounds of CCI hi-velocity, that’s only about a buck more than I used to pay.
Only thing I’m going to be shooting in centerfire for the near future is 9×18 Mak and 7.62×39, since that’s all I’ve got more than 500 rounds of. And I’m laughing at myself for having sold off 600 rounds of Tula .223 last November, for $75. Stuff was choking my AR and my Kel-Tec.

Remington Golden Bullet? only if they’ve fixed the quality control problem from Obamascare Mk. I. (I get about 1 out of 25 that are not primered quite right- they either dud out, or require a second strike elsewhere on the rim to set off. Still, it let’s me practice clearing FTF malfunctions pretty nicely.
