A Hard Day Of Work

God bless sheetrock.
Not sure what to say today. Something about guns, perhaps?
Alright. How about this was duck-fucking stupid of a move by a firearms manufacturer?

Gonna cost ’em more support than they gain but, considering all the capricious butt-hurt they went through, I can’t entirely blame them.
As a cartoonist, James, you have to know how solidly laws on parody and satire laws come down on the side of the producer, especially when the alleged victim is in the political arena.
p.s. Dunno if it’s a fluke but it’s great to finally be able to read your commentary on my mobile without a magnifying glass!
As many Californians can attest, rights get silenced in one of two ways: 1) Quietly or 2)kicking and screaming. Ares will always go kicking and screaming for what they went though, because he’s a goddamn motherfucking stubborn ass patriot who won’t be quiet about the California and national horse shit. While many gun people try to stay off the Radar, Dimitri tries to be as on the radar as possible, so when they come for him, everyone will know. He won’t go silently into that night, he’s going to go leaving a wake of supporters and followers that will affect gun folks in a different way.
Just my opinion though.
Yeah, I saw that Ares Armor joke upper. Obviously Dmitri is chafing under the fluidity of BATFE regulations and their capricious enforcement of them. It’s never settled on what’s legal and what isn’t, until you’re in court because it turns out, they don’t deem what you’ve created to be legal.
There’s a tinge of asshole to his ploy, but it is reactionary instead of out of the blue.
I stand in awe of professional sheet-rock installers; in the time it would take me and four friends to get one sheet up in a reasonably competent manner, they have the room done.
I suppose we could market a Bush-Barrel, but I don’t think there’d be much of a market for a product that burns through ammo but can’t seem to find the right target.
win!
Doesn’t that describe the entire AR/AK/whatever Spray ‘n Pray crowd? 😉
Weren’t the lowers in question completely finished to 100% and then afterwards filled in with another plastic to try and take them back to 80%? Seems like they tried to gamble on a technicality and lost. Now they are attention whoring because they are still butt-hurt they got slapped down.
Seems they claim their process was the inverse. They claim they made the white middle chunk first and then formed the lower around that. But to me that doesn’t really change anything as now you are just creating a 100% lower around a chunk of other plastic.
Technically it was never a finished lower, but the ATF makes the rules.
There is that thing about not being able to have markings as to where to drill, so there is that too…
Either way, jigs are relatively cheap, and can be used to clean an 80% pretty well. But that’s just me.
I’ve looked at that. Now let me explain my background. I have a degree in Materials Engineering, focused on polymers and process control. One of the pictures I saw, apparently made to show people how the whole thing works, was the inner block of plastic, the part to be removed later, in a clear overmold. That overmolded part is a 100% receiver, and if the material choice were correct they could slide the filler block out, with no machining. That said it all. They are molding a 100% receiver over a filler piece.
Just watched a youtube vid on finishing one of these, and I think it proves my point. The white plastic is clearly significantly softer than the black, and finishing didn’t require milling, just grinding out the center then peeling the shell out of the pocket. The holes being marked by dimples is also apparently an issue that is a no-no.
That is totally not the right attitude to have. You should support innovative firearms manufacture, not whore out for the ATF.
Duck-fucking stupid huh? Guess only special libetal princesses like you get to use the first amendment. Sad.
U mad?
Suck it up, Sally.
If you aren’t supporting the speech of someone you hate, you don’t actually give a fuck about the First Amendment.
Now go eat a bowl of dicks while the adults are talking…
Supporting someone’s rights does not mean you can’t say that their opinion is duck-fucking stupid. And it is also extremely rude to talk smack like that to the guy that runs the website. One might even say, it is duck-fucking stupid.
Absolutely correct. I frequently think a lot of what everyone says is double-duck-fucking stupid…
Doesn’t mean they can’t say it. And it also means you really should avoid the lynch mobs that form up trying to get people fired.
Also, if you would take the time to see who it was I was replying to, you’d see I was talking to Some Cunt. But thanks for playing, princess.
My apologies then, Scott. Please direct my last at Some Cunt.
Nah, if you’re a gun manufacturer and you really want to poke fun at Obama, you make a line of products for sale only in Mexico and the Middle East.
Save for Emperor Norton the 1st, I don’t want any politicians’ name on my gun. Even though I approved of Rick Perry’s use of his .380 – saved someone’s dog from being mauled by a coyote while he was jogging, and the anti-gunners gave him shit for it- I though Ruger issuing a governor’s special was cheesy.
And if you give your gun a funny name based upon some tragedy -like calling your Carcano “3 votes for Johnson” or your Glock a “Trayvon Martin special”, while I don’t want to legislate away your right to do so, you’re worse than dogshit that’s been pooped, eaten by the dog, then regurgitated.
Keltecs are the Zimmerman Specials, but yeah, your point is valid.
While I agree that the product name is extremely dumb, it is also really, really effective.
The second I read the name, I wanted one. If I had disposable income, I would have ordered one.
And I’m not the biggest fan of the 5.56 round (I acknowledge it is effective, I just personally prefer other rounds).
It’s a lot more effective out of a respectable barrel like a 16″, 20″ or 25″. What’s a 10.5″ in metric? 266.7mm.
HK53 (211mm) / ACE21 (221mm) / SSG552 (226mm) / G36C (228mm) country, that.
It’s a sub-machine gun firing rifle rounds. Unless you’re in the habit of abseiling out of helicopters, sneaking ashore from submarines, entering buildings via the air ducts or riding around in tanks, you probably want something a bit longer,
… like 460mm (TAR21 / ACE23), 464mm (AR-18), 470mm (Mini-14), 508mm (M16), 510mm (C7), 518mm (L85), et cetera.
Also, being below 16″, it’s going to mean special paperwork, which puts you on the “sus” list even without that name attached to it.
“Also, being below 16″, it’s going to mean special paperwork, which puts you on the “sus” list even without that name attached to it.”
Not unless you use it when building an AR pistol. Which is like semi-auto submachine gun without the buttstock. No paperwork needed, unless you’re buying your AR lower receiver, and then you only have to fill out a 4473.
I think there are .223 loads optimized for 16″> barrels, but I don’t know who makes such rounds.
So in other words, you’ll waste your money on a mediocre product for a round you don’t like, because you don’t like the President. Marketing at it’s finest! Just like selling boatloads of ammo and weapons at a premium, because “everyone knows” he’s coming any day now (for the last 6 years) to take away our guns!
“So in other words, you’ll waste your money on a mediocre product for a round you don’t like, because you don’t like the President.”
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup.
Thought it would be less because of my dislike of the man (which is, admittedly, epic) but more of a consumer-voting-with-his-wallet “Fuck You” to his desire for more and greater Gun Control laws.
Again, thanks for playing, princess.
And hey, why would anyone think Obama wanted to “come for their guns”? I mean, it’s just something he talks about, and leading democrats push for. Silly people, listening to what is said.
He does? And yet in 6 years, has utterly failed to actually even move that way, much less try to do it.? Dude, you’ve been PLAYED. They are laughing their way to the bank with your money, because you believed them, and still do.
So the fact that Democrat-sponsored (and run) groups like Moms Demand are banging the drum of idiocy and fear (because logic kinda kills their argument) is irrelevant, because Obama sucks at governing?
Well, that’s good to know. It isn’t like someone competent couldn’t ever manage the bullshit he (and many members of his party) talk about wanting. I mean, who cares what senior Democrat Senators say and want? Is itsn’t like they can pass laws or anything…
Don’t worry he has another 2 years to fuck shit up, never say never.
Also, I had the same reaction as our “hero” on several occasions this summer while working in a factory in East Texas this summer…
Yes, I’m aware of how insanely mild this summer was. Seems I was born for office work.
After a day like this, a massage bathe suddenly seems like a sound investment.
By golly, Mick sounds like he’s been possessed by Snooch! 🙂
I dunno. The challenger still has a long way to go to beat the morons who produced bayonets for pistols.
It’s only stupid until you’re at slide lock.
No, it’s still stupid. I’d much rather have a fighting knife and an empty pistol then a blade crazyglue’d to an awkward and hard to fight with handle.
I wonder how good a handguard an empty pistol makes, once you’re down to a knife fight?
Hard work never hurt anyone? Have you checked with John Henry on that one?
Lord, Lord. 🙂
