Ever onward!
Obammer’s gunna taek ur gunnnnnnnnz a bloo bloo bloo argh. I’m getting tired of news articles that continue feeding the sensationalism. Here’s an idea: The economy is in the toilet, and more and more people are finding themselves out of work. The situation is ripe for violence and crime to escalate. Maybe, and I’m just putting this out there, maybe more people who normally wouldn’t buy a firearm for home defense are feeling it might be a good idea now. Not because OMG OBAMMA’S AFTER MA GUNZ I BETTER BUY MOAR, but because people are realizing that their homes and lives may need to be defended. I dunno.
OK, seriously I dunno what the hell is wrong with this guy. Seriously, guys. Seriously.
There is nothing wrong with him. He’s just doing some pretty non-damaging “abuse” to his firearm, which happens to be a pretty valueless Glock. Valueless in the sense that it is not rare. It will never be “worth” something 50-100 years from now because there are several million of the damn things.
To be honest; the only thing “wrong” I see, is that these tests are pretty weak and don’t really showcase how dependable the firearm is. Pudding? Non-abrasive, actually functioned kind of like a lubricant. Jell-o? Can’t believe it is abrasive enough to cause any kind of excess wear or damage. Raw egg? Not going to do anything. The only test I’ve seen him do what had the potential to do…”excess wear” was the Cinnamon challenge due to Cinnamon being a powder, and maybe, but unlikely, abrasive.
….Unless you thinks there’s something wrong with wasting perfectly good Pudding and jell-o?
“news articles that continue feeding the sensationalism” – it’s not just guns, it’s *everything*. For example, there’s the story going around on various tech sites about how the UN/ITU wants to “take over the internet” from the US
Every god damned local news article about motorcycle crashes just about say “those damn bikers are dangerous” even though the last 2 stories had the car running a red light or turning left on the guy.
This is why I have not had TV service in 8 months, and have not looked at the TV news in 4 or 5 years.
Hey I would like to get in touch with you about linking up the forum I run and your I have already linked from my end with a thread or two and I was wondering what you would require to link it our way on your end. You can just send me an Email at Gapowderdry@yahoo.com
and your site*
What’s the forum?
ShadowHeaven.com Its a gaming forum but its an off shoot of the outdoors trader. Most of all of us are gun nuts.
Its kinda moving slow at shadowheaven so I am trying to get some partnerships going to get my traffic up if possible. I like what your doing here. But I have to admit you wouldn’t have much benefit for awhile.
You’ve got a point about the potential for unrest being a possible driver for gun sales. Most of my students recently have been liberal-to-moderate, and I’m guessing most of them voted for Obama. Was going to teach one on Sunday, and she couldn’t make it. Turns out an emergency of some sort cropped up. Said she wants a raincheck on the shooting session, because she’s feeling a more urgent need for that skill set.
I have to agree about the sensationalism issue. I was a hard core gun nut in the 80’s & 90’s and I remember articles every month in the trades about how conspiracies were brewing to take away guns and enslave America. Didn’t really matter who was president.
And to be honest, it doesn’t really matter who is president now. It’s congress that’s the issue and has done the most damage, ranging from the ’68 GCA to the Hughes Amendment (I read way to many of those articles as a teenager). Part of the sensationalism is to drive magazine sales, the other half is to drive donations to annoying lobbying groups. I’ve seen similar efforts in the porn industry.
Joe obviously does not have enough appreciation for redheads, otherwise, he’d already notice the distinct subtleties that separate the wide variety of redheads. More redheads may need to be introduced into the comic for Joe to appreciate the full bodied character that reds contain 🙂
love these comics you do! keep makin em
Wrong? Nah. By the foliage and the brand of sour cream in the fridge, he’s just got a bit of Pacific North Wet weird going. 🙂
There’s a distinct ease in confusing causes and effects in this debate. It’s typical that given an economic climate like this one, usually MORE crimes are happening, but the rates seem to be depressed, and one of the likely culprits is a recent easing of gun restrictions in many places. Crooks get guns no matter the laws, but knowing they’ll likely be dealing with a law-abiding gun owner whilst rummaging through their unmentionables (or silverware, y’know, whichever) drawer tends to make them recalibrate that list of wants vs. needs.
It’s kinda like why there was more violence in virtually every OTHER “occupy” system in terms of police overstepping their authority than in Phoenix (where they had an unspoken agreement: you let us protest in piece, and we won’t have to unconceal what we’re carrying). Arizona is the only state I know who’s proud to score a 0% on Jim Brady’s scorecard (and they’d like to see if he knows how to push it negative, by removing that restriction on campus-carry).
Frankly, if they made the drugs legal, and thus the Mexican cartel went out of business, AZ would be the safest state I know.
Is it entirely a coincidence that Jessie looks a lot like Ella, from the old FLEM days?
It is. Ella had blue hair, btw.
