Loudanum Dropz 4
There are few things as pleasurable in life as watching a hot goth chick dance. Just sayin’.
By the time you’re reading this, we’re ass-deep in Comic Con San Diego. I am probably experiencing a form of shell shock, as I do every year on the Friday of the con, when shit gets crazy. Just know that no matter how hectic your day is today, mine deals with thousands of cat and gun comic fans. Be grateful you are not in my position. This is one of the ways I pay for my sins.
Here’s some Cruxshadows. We got to party with these guys on a cruise liner for a week back in 2009. The whole band was very affable, did an amazing live concert on the ship, and we hope they tour through Dallas again sometime soon.
Cat and gun fans at the same time? Sometimes our best ideas come to bite us in the ass.
Too true regarding the dancing, I remember the good ol’ days when my home town had a mid-week night dedicated to ‘Goth’ music… It had a large range of different Genre’s but jeez… the ladies… they sure new how to dance!
I will always remember my buddy turning to me saying “Get her to do that dance move again!” – Brilliant night.
…they’re primers. Hochit, stealth pun.
Well, maybe not so much stealth as me not paying attention…
Wish I was there! I love Cruxshadows, so it’s nice to know that they’re good people. (It just sucks to find out you’ve been supporting assholes, y’know?)
Met them a few years back in OH. I bought a CD and Rogue made it a point to get it signed for me by every band member and even the dancers!! One of the few bands I’ve met that genuinely seems to care about their fans!!
I have to chime in on the Cruxshadows being good people thread. Rogue and crew have always been great to the fans and the congoers at DragonCon. A few years ago, this adorable tween girl dressed up as 80’s/cartoon Rogue from the X-Men came up to the band as they were breaking down site after the con was done. Rogue took down their booth’s banner, autographed it and gave it to the young lady.
They are all definitely good people.
If by some chance, you see Adam Savage and Chloe Dykstra getting it on in their costumes, at Comic-Con, please post photos 😉
Have a great time at the con!
One of my partners tells stories about her goth phase – kind of sorry I missed out on it. On the other hand, getting fired from her daycare job two months ago (after 15 years of miserly pay) means she was free to dye her hair green like she’s been wanting to do. Yeah, I’m fine with that!
And there are people who wonder why I worked at the Continental (- one of the last clubs in the states whose “goth night” was every night. -) for some many years.
Once upon a time, I sat completely transfixed for what felt like an eternity watching this hot goth girl writhe and wriggle and slink and sway to The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove. It was a good two hours before I managed to re-hinge my jaw and return my eyeballs to their appropriate orbits.

More on gun control and using racism as an excuse to justify gun control. On topic for this comic in general, not so much for this particular strip.
Cruxshadows? They perform at DragonCon every year in Atlanta, and they are on the schedule for this year too. If you feel like taking a vacation over Labor Day you can see them again.
We just got word, after CCSD, that our Dragoncon apps had finally been denied – not surprising, as we applied kinda late. Next year perhaps. This year, we’re doing Animefest.
If you’re at D*Con, however, be sure to say hi to Jennie Breeden and Unwoman!
Cruxshadows I only know about them from John Ringo. Also your comic s hilarious and reminds me of my time working at DFW Guns and Training
